A spokesperson for Shine Lawyers has denied suggestions made by Firm Spy this week that the firm is planning to acquire Gold Coast compensation firm, ALC Lawyers.

However, when contacted by Lawyers Weekly again today (10 November), Shine did not deny the rumour but instead said they would not be commenting on the matter.

On 9 November, Firm Spy reported that Shine Lawyers was about to announce its plans to acquire ALC Lawyers, claiming that such a move would provide significant competition for Slater & Gordon and its efforts to consolidate the national personal injury market.

Speaking to Lawyers Weekly, a Shine Lawyers spokesperson confirmed that the Firm Spy report was untrue and that the firm has no plans at this stage to acquire ALC Lawyers, or any other firm.

ALC Lawyers was established in 2006 and has a team of 12 personal injury specialists servicing Queensland, New South Wales and the Northern Territory.
