The NSW Law Society has organised a walking tour of Aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory.

As part of a reconciliation program the Society has devised for members, the week-long tour in September includes walks of up to five hours and "fireside chats" with the Arrernte people of Hermannsburg, 130 kilometres south-west of Alice Springs.

The Law Society said the structure of the tour allows members to "walk on country in order to better understand the sense of connection that aboriginal people feel to their homelands and how that relates to Aboriginal law".

Details of the tour, which costs just under $3000, can be found on the NSW Law Society's website.
