A Brisbane-based boutique law firm has won the 2011 Queensland Law Society prize for Equity and Diversity.

Thynne & Macartney was recognised for its commitment to promoting staff diversity and accommodating lifestyle needs through equitable work practices, recruitment and training, succession planning and provisions for those returning from maternity leave.

"We are thrilled to be recognised by the QLS for our commitment to our employees," said John Moore, chairman of the board of equity partners.

Queensland Law Society president Bruce Doyle said the award recognised practical achievements in workplace equity and diversity that are crucial to the retention of talented lawyers in firms.

Thynne & Macartney is a commercial firm operating within the Kennedy Strang Legal Group.
