THE WESTERN Sydney Collaborative Family Lawyers (WSCFL) network was launched last week in Parramatta, with Attorney-General Philip Ruddock in attendance.

A multi-practice legal network, WSCFL has been created in a response to changing legislation affecting family breakdown in the community, the group said. It is made of a number of lawyers from Western Sydney firms, who have an understanding of the collaborative family law process.

“We see this as an opportunity to really make a difference,” WSCFL spokesperson and McPhee Kelshaw solicitor, David Dunkley said. “The collaborative approach is a much more civilised, and ultimately fairer way of negotiating property settlements and agreements in respect to children’s issues.”

Susan Warda, of Coleman & Greig Solicitors, and Geoff Dunlevy, president of the New South Wales Law Society, also attended the event.
