Speaking at a Queensland Law Society and Women Lawyers Association of Queensland breakfast on 31 March as part of the QLS’s 50th Anniversary Vincents’ Symposium, Brockovich will look back at the more than 18 years she has spent crusading for the rights of people and the protection of the environment, and the work she now does advising a number of law firms in the United States.

“Lawyers are a tenacious breed and it’s great to be surrounded by people who are as impassioned as I am about defending the vulnerable,” said Brockovich. “I’m really happy to have the opportunity to speak at the symposium breakfast and hopefully motivate others to take a stand on issues important to them.”

The symposium will also include keynote addresses from international human rights counsel and author Geoffrey Robertson QC and renowned Australian columnist and demographer Bernard Salt.
