A subset of law jobs “most lawyers likely wouldn’t want” is now searchable for those either in dire need of any job, or those desperate to get out of their current role.

Sh*t Law Jobs (SLJ) is a job board for the “sorriest lawyer jobs” around, reports Legal Blog Watch today.

The US-based site, whose logo is a gavel set to fall on a pile of “sh*t”, has the tagline “you’re a lawyer, the economy sucks and you need a job..”

Among the worst most recently listed jobs, a “very legally active” real estate management company is seeking “a soccer mom, with a law degree you would like to put back in to use” or someone who has “been denied the opportunity to practice the trade that you are still paying off student loans for”. The successful applicant needs to investigate, write and file legal documents for state and federal court, work in legal malpractice, do collections, contract litigation, execute on existing judgments obtained over the last 30 years, be Spanish bi-lingual and pet friendly (because a cat and a dog freely roam the office). And the pay? $10 per hour.

Since May 2010, SLJ has reproduced Craiglist listings for 64 such jobs, including a "Consumer law attorney job in Ohio" that pays $15/hour (but free parking!) and a "Newly admitted attorney job in New York" that pays the minuscule (but refreshingly simple) amount of $100/day.
