PROMINENT Australian lawyers will offer the Australian perspective of international mediation and arbitration at the Australasia Legal, Mediation & Arbitration Conference in Hong Kong in January.

Allan Myers AO QC, a member of the Australia, UK and PNG Bar, will speak on the issues affecting counsel in relation to mediation. Ian Lloyd QC, member of the Australian and HK Bar and Justice of the Court of Appeal in Fiji, will also speak at the event on the same topic.

The event, which runs 11-13 January has a speaker program that includes a series of specialist seminars hosted by local firms, including Mallesons Stephen Jaques, Dechert, Haldanes, Withers Worldwide, Minter Ellison, Clifford Chance, Hogan Lovells and Ince & Co.

The Hong Kong supporting firms have expressed their strong interest in meeting the Australian delegation and creating business relationships, according to organisers.

The event has been designed to educate on capturing opportunities in the region and provides the framework for delegates to maximise their network while obtaining local connections.

The conference is achieving strong international interest and registrations will close first week of November or earlier if sold out prior.
