The top prize went to Michael Anderson, general counsel at Star City Hotel & Casino who received the accolade of Corporate Lawyer of the Year at an awards ceremony following the first day of the ACLA national conference in Melbourne.

Taking out the Government Lawyer of the Year category was Nicholas Egan from the State Solicitors Office Western Australia.

The Australian In-house Legal Team of the year award went to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, led by Rob Simpson, director of legal.

Meanwhile, Karen Perret, general counsel at Cadbury took home the prize for Australian In-house Lawyer Young Achiever of the year, and the Excellence in Sustainability award went to Corporate Express, led by Kathleen Forbes, general counsel and company secretary.
