Pennelope Watson, Associate Dean/Director of Learning and Teaching at Macquarie Law School, has won the LexisNexis-Australasian Law Teachers Association Award (ALTA) for Excellence and Innovation in the Teaching of Law.

Watson structured a Peer Assisted Learning Program (PAL) that trains students to support one another to understand concepts and skills.

Other category winners included Mohsen al Attar from the University of Auckland for the Early career Award and Professor Michael Adams, Head of Law School at the University of Western Sydney, for the new 2010 Mentor of Teaching Excellence Award.

The award ceremony was held in Auckland on 6 July.
