Lander & Rogers has this week launched a new initiative, Women's Business, which is aimed at providing an intimate networking forum for like-minded women.

Focusing on the firm's female client contacts and female staff who aspire to sit on company boards, Women's Business will provide information to assist them in taking steps towards board membership.

"There has been a lot of discussion recently about gender equity in the boardroom. There is no reason why women should be so underrepresented in board positions," said chief executive partner Andrew Willder. "From discussions with our clients, we have identified a number of senior women who are interested in board membership, but are lacking information and support to assist them in achieving this goal. Lander & Rogers is providing a forum for information exchange between women who sit on boards and women who are interested in board membership."

This week's first Women's Business event will feature two female directors, including non-executive director of Citigroup, Transurban Group and Virgin Blue, Samantha Mostyn, who will share their personal experiences, challenges and highlights as board members.
