Barrister Peter O’Neill has been appointed as a commissioner to the QIRC.
O’Neill brings more than a decade of experience to the role and has been a practising barrister since 1994, appearing in state courts at all levels, including at the commission and the industrial court.
Industrial Relations Minister, Grace Grace, said the Governor in Council had approved the appointment of O’Neill to the commission on 19 September 2024.
“Commissioners of the QIRC must demonstrate a strong set of skills, professional experience and expertise in industrial relations, and Peter exemplifies these qualities,” she said.
“His extensive involvement in the justice system and high standing in the community position him well for this role with the QIRC. I congratulate Peter on his appointment and wish him the best in his new role.”
