SENIOR ASSOCIATES around the country will be hoping that Allens Arthur Robinson’s (AAR) appointment of 12 new partners is a sign of things to come.

This will be AAR’s largest intake of new partners since 2001 and is touted as a sure sign that the firm is betting on future growth.

Jacqueline Downes, Ren Niemann, Tom Story, Malcolm Stephens, Miriam Stiel and David Yates were made partners in the Sydney office, Igor Bogdanich, Jason Morris and Nick Rudge were made partners in the Melbourne office, and Darren Murphy from Perth, Marcus Clark from Bangkok and Stuart Mengler from Beijing were also made partners.

AAR is one of the first Australian firms to announce new partnership appointments due to take effect on July 1. Other firms are expected to start announcing their appointments in the coming weeks. Based on trends in the UK where Magic Circle firms have recently announced record numbers of appointments, the same looks set to happen here.
