THE Federal Coalition says it will move a motion to have the Government's emissions trading legislation separated from its renewable energy target legislation when Parliament resumes next week.
The two bills were linked by the government because they both involve industry assistance to the energy and resources sectors. But renewable energy companies and resources bodies have called for the two pieces of legislation to be separated, a Senate inquiry has heard, ABC News reports.
Greg Hunt, Opposition environment spokesperson, said the Coalition wants to support the renewable energy target, but not the Government's carbon pollution reduction scheme, ABC News reports. "We do want to get it passed. We do want to fix it, but not at any price."
