"THE open warfare between the Attorney-General, John Hatzistergos, and the DPP is unprecedented," legal reporter and commentator, Richard Ackland, reports in The Sydney Morning Herald.

In an article published today by the newspaper, Ackland notes that "the politics of NSW might well rank as among the nastiest on the planet". He reports on the ability of Director of Public Prosecutions, Nicholas Cowdry, to challenge the first legal officer because of his "life" tenure in the job.
