FORMER Flower and Hart associate Katrina Chambers has returned to the Brisbane-based firm to strengthen its intellectual property practice as senior counsel.

Chambers left the firm four and a half years ago to work at McCullough Robertson, where she was senior associate in the firm’s intellectual property law practice, considered the largest in Brisbane.

During her career Chambers has worked on protection and commercialisation of intellectual property, intellectual property disputes, trade marks, copyright, franchising, licensing, privacy, supply and distribution agreements, contracts, trade practices, intellectual property due diligence and the purchase and sale of technology companies.

Katrina also has a broad commercial experience and has worked for a wide range of clients including national franchisors, ASX listed public companies, government, a university, IP spinout companies, biotechnology companies and a number of start up companies.

Chambers will be part of the commercial and corporate team at Flower and Hart, but her specialisation will be in intellectual property, franchising and privacy law. Up until now the firm has had not had a specialist intellectual property law practitioner, and had instead serviced this area through its commercial and corporate team.

Chambers has a masters in intellectual property law through the University of Melbourne, as well as a degree in Science and an Honours degree in Law.
