Martin Alden (pictured) will fill the gap left by Louise Houlihan, who moved to Sladen Legal earlier this month.

Mr Alden has experience in all aspects of employment, discrimination and industrial relations law. He previously worked with K&L Gates and Herbert Geer (now Thomson Geer).

Cornwall Stodart is also stocking up on senior lawyers, with two partners and one senior associate joining the firm.

Chairman of partners John Hutchings said the firm was pleased to welcome the new lawyers: “Each appointment reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering quality advice and enhancing the success of our clients,” he said.

Andrew Goatcher, who worked at Griffith Hack as a partner and principal for the past seven years, will join Cornwall Stodart as an intellectual property partner.

He has experience in matters involving patents, registered designs, copyright and trademarks and misleading and deceptive conduct.

Revenue law partner Dennis Tomaras was recruited from Madgwicks Lawyers, where he worked as a partner for four and a half years.

He specialises in taxation planning and structuring advice for mergers and acquisitions and international tax planning.

Senior associate Ali Khanbashi joins Cornwall Stodart’s commercial property team from TressCox Lawyers.
