Dr Morris (pictured) was previously a partner at Davies Collison Cave in Brisbane, specialising in chemistry-related patent applications in a range of industries.

For her PhD in organic chemistry at ANU, Dr Morris studied the total synthesis of natural products. She was later awarded a post-doctoral fellowship at St Andrews University in Scotland, where she researched enzyme kinetics.

“We are thrilled to have a new principal of Kathryn’s calibre join our team,” said Griffith Hack chairman David Hughes. “It is also a further affirmation of our commitment to gender equity at the senior levels of our firm.”

Of the past seven appointments to principal at Griffith Hack, four have been women.
