Mr Philips (pictured) has been appointed as a partner at DLA Piper’s Sydney office.

He has previously advised on transactions valued at more than $100 billion, spanning recommended and hostile takeover bids, schemes of arrangement, public to privates, redomiciles, privatisations and equity capital markets.

He also wrote the takeovers chapter in the Australian Corporation Practice guide and lectures in corporate fundraising at the University of Sydney.

Mr Philips is the sixth corporate partner to join DLA Piper in the past four months, following the appointments of Grant Koch, Michael Bowen, Scott Gibson and Marc Wilshaw and David Hallam.

DLA Piper recently lost partner Judith Miller to boutique firm Wrays and special counsel Mark Baker-Jones to DibbsBarker.
