Mr Messing (pictured) joins HWL Ebsworth as a partner from Herbert Smith Freehills, where he was a senior associate.

He has experience in negotiating strategic outsourcing and IT contracts, as well as mergers and acquisitions, joint venture arrangements, business process enhancements, distribution agreements, telecommunications projects and general procurement.

His clients include leading Australian and multinational organisations operating within a broad range of industries, including telecommunications, information technology, energy and resources, insurance, real estate, media, transport and government.

“IT and outsourcing is an area of genuine growth for our firm,” HWL Ebsworth managing partner Juan Martinez said.

“Josh has played a leading role on some of the most significant and complex transactions in this area in recent years and has an excellent reputation within the industry.”

HWL Ebsworth recently gained partner Maria Townsend from Hunt & Hunt, but lost special counsel Peter Nugent to Holding Redlich and Dylan Steel to Gilchrist Connell.
