Kara Cook launched Cook Legal late last year and, according to Ms Cook, it is the first Australian law firm to target domestic violence work.

Ms de Kretser (pictured) has now joined Cook Legal as a consultant.

She is an accredited family law specialist and has practised exclusively in family law since her admission in 2007.

She has a special interest in domestic violence matters, but is also experienced in complex property settlements, parenting disputes, child support and child protection matters.

Ms de Kretser and Ms Cook previously worked together at the Women's Legal Service in Brisbane.

We're evolving — and so should your insights. Heads up — Lawyers Weekly is going premium from 1 May for just $5 a month. Stay informed without missing a beat. More information coming soon.
