Mr Scorgie (pictured) was CIO of Mayer Brown for more than three years, and has previously held positions with Norton Rose Australia and Deacons in Hong Kong.

He will begin his new role at Allens in Melbourne on 10 May.

“I am excited to join Allens, a firm that puts clients at the centre of its thinking, that is embracing change and the possibilities that new technology brings,” Mr Scorgie said.

Allens chief operating officer Rod Fielding said Mr Scorgie would play a key role in supporting the firm’s lawyers to meet changing client needs.

"We see enormous potential in using new technologies to deliver services more effectively and efficiently to our clients,” Mr Fielding said.
