The local cohort is among 20 new partners to be announced by Herbert Smith Freehills this week.

The Sydney office welcomes new finance partner Laura Sheridan Mouton, disputes partner Brad Strahorn and projects partner Kristen Percy.

In Melbourne, the firm has promoted corporate partner Nick Baker and project finance partner Chris Skordas.

The Brisbane office gets one new partner in Rohan Doyle from the employment, pensions and incentives team.

In a statement released by Herbert Smith Freehills last week, joint CEO Mark Rigotti said he was delighted that, once again, a significant number of the firm’s new partners were women.

“[This] underlines our commitment to working towards our target of a 30 per cent female partnership by 2019,” he said.

Joint CEO Sonya Leydecker added that the promotions reflect the firm’s continued investment in developing a “market-leading offering across geographies, products and sectors”.

Earlier this year the firm lost technology partner Josh Messing when he joined HWL Ebsworth’s technology, media and communications team.

In December last year Perth-based senior associates Emily Tsokos and David Naoun left Herbert Smith Freehills to join Gilbert + Tobin.
