The Commonwealth Bank has announced Suncorp's executive Anna Lenahan will fill the role, as well as the role of group executive group corporate affairs.

She will fill the vacancy left by David Cohen, who has become the bank’s new group chief risk officer.

Ms Lenahan is the chief risk and legal office at Suncorp group and will commence with CBA in late 2016.

Prior to joining Suncorp in 2011, Ms Lenahan was a partner at Allens Arthur Robinson (now Allens Linklaters) in a corporate and commercial practice, including financial services organisations.

She has also previously acted a crown prosecutor with the Department of Public Prosecutions in Perth.

CBA CEO Ian Narev welcomed Ms Lenahan to the team.

"In addition to her legal, regulatory, risk and governance expertise, she has shown herself to be a values-driven leader with strong commercial judgment," he said.
