Ray Travers will commence as firm managing partner from 1 July, assuming the role from Anthony Gavan, who is also the firm's head of property.

Mr Travers is a partner in both the clubs and employment law teams, providing advice in relation to liquor and gaming applications, the law of meetings for companies and associations, drafting employment agreements, and advising on employment terms and conditions. He also advises and acts in discrimination and defamation matters.

Mr Travers has worked for Pigott Stinson for 15 years and was admitted as a solicitor in 2004.

The firm also announced special counsel Daniel Fleming has been promoted to the Pigott Stinson partnership.

The additional promotion of litigation specialist Mr Fleming brings Pigott Stinson’s total number of partners to nine.

Mr Fleming works in general commercial litigation and Family Provision Act claims. He also advises clients on intellectual property and compliance with the Competition and Consumer Act.

Speaking to the new promotions, Pigott Stinson partner Leonie Kyriacou said: "Pigott Stinson is one of the oldest firms in NSW with a history spanning over 150 years. We pride ourselves on our long history but these new appointments are important for ensuring that the strength of the firm continues well into the future."

Pigott Stinson has offices in Sydney and Newcastle as well as an associate-relationship with McKean Park in Melbourne.
