The 10 lawyers work in DibbsBarker’s Brisbane and Sydney offices, in the banking, insolvency and disputes, real estate and construction, and people and workplace practices. The promotions came into effect on 1 July.

The firm placed emphasis on its Brisbane insurance team in this round of promotions. Angela Brookes (pictured), an insurance specialist with a focus on workers’ compensation, public liability and product liability, was promoted to partner in the Brisbane office.

Angela has a wealth of experience representing her clients in settlement conferences, mediations and coronial inquests, and acting on behalf of international corporations in relation to claims brought under the product liability provisions of the Australian Consumer Law,” according to DibbsBarker’s announcement.

Ms Brookes was joined by Louise Ridley and Bettina Sorbello, who were promoted to special counsel, and Daisy Whyte, who was promoted to associate. All three work in the Brisbane insurance team.

DibbsBarker also announced the appointment of Peppy Mitchell to special counsel, as well as Alexandra Henderson and Clare Kerley to senior associate. All three work in the Sydney office, in the risk, real estate and construction, and people and workplace teams respectively.

The firm’s new associates include Jodie Partridge and Stephanie Schiller in Sydney, and Susan Talbot in Brisbane. Ms Partridge and Ms Talbot work in the banking, insolvency and disputes teams in Sydney and Brisbane respectively. Ms Schiller works in the Sydney real estate and construction practice.

“We are proud to kick off the new financial year with a strong round of promotions that recognise not only our lawyers’ technical expertise, but also their dedication to providing outstanding service to our clients,” said Stephen Purcell, DibbsBarker managing partner.

“I am delighted to see Angela Brookes join the partnership, and I congratulate all our promoted lawyers on achieving significant milestones in their careers.”
