Mr Efstathis’s law firm EAGLEGATE Lawyers has paid tribute, saying he had a great passion for assisting clients and was looking forward to studying his MIP in 2020.

The firm said Mr Efstathis was an active and talented member of Brisbane’s intellectual property community and a rising star in this area of law, with considerable experience working with respected barristers and state and Federal Court judges.

Mr Efstathis had a background in applied science, majoring in biotechnology, allowing him to “fully understand clients’ needs and provide tailored advice”. He was building a “solid reputation” in copyright law, trade mark strategy and infringement matters.

EAGLEGATE said he was also an avid photographer and football fanatic. The practice principal, Nichole Murdoch, said he made a “very positive contribution to the practice of law in Queensland and would be mourned by the profession”.
