Mills Oakley adds new partner to family law practice
Mills Oakley has bolstered its Sydney-based family law practice with the appointment of a new partner.

Fadiya Ali will take to Mills Oakley’s partnership from 1 February, bringing with her a decade worth of experience in family law.
Ms Ali has a keen interest in parenting matters, which involve cross-jurisdictional and extraterritorial issues. Some of her notable matters include acting for high-net-worth individuals, and cases where there are contested valuation issues and complex corporate and trust structures.
According to a statement from Mills Oakley, Ms Ali conducts interim and final hearings in the Family Court of Australia, the Federal Circuit Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of NSW. She also holds extensive experience in appellate matters, including litigating a high-stakes cross-jurisdictional appeal in the High Court.
Mills Oakley chief executive John Nerurker described Ms Ali as “an impressive addition to the firm”.
“Fadiya is a genuine rising star of the profession,” Mr Nerurker said.
“She is personable, energetic and driven to achieve the very best result for her clients. The combination of her natural talent and acumen and her excellent relationships within the profession and the community will make her a real asset to the firm.”
Ms Ali said she’s excited to join a firm of Mills Oakley’s caliber and reputation.
“I am thrilled to be joining a progressive firm which is committed to supporting lawyers in the delivery of the very highest level of client service,” she said.
“I am also looking forward to working alongside partner Susan Warda, one of the pre-eminent family lawyers in Sydney, in addition to the very talented Mills Oakley Family Law Team in Sydney and Australia-wide.”
