FORMER MALLESONS Stephen Jaques partner Julie Ward has been formally sworn in as a justice of the NSW Supreme Court (equity division).

Ward was a partner at Mallesons for 20 years, practising in the area of commercial dispute resolution in the Sydney office. Her practice involved a range of commercial litigation and advisory work, primarily in equity and property matters. During her considerable time with the firm, she contested Supreme Court and Federal Court proceedings involving corporations, Trade Practices Act issues and applications for judicial advice on various trust matters and claims for equitable relief.

She also served in a number of positions, including staff partner of the Sydney commercial dispute resolution group, recruitment partner for Sydney and as a member of the firm’s partnership committee.
