“It has been interesting to observe the rising volume of knowledge-seekers as a result of the pandemic,” Mr Cabuka said.
“Increasingly, people are wanting to broaden their education, especially in respect of technical skills. They have also realised the importance of staying connected and better understanding systems which can deliver this objective.”
As such, Mr Cabuka said Mills Oakley remains committed to evolving its learning program.
“Our learning program evolves each year and this year will be no exception,” he said.
“In-house legal seminars are run nationally by our teams to broaden legal knowledge across practices and there is continuous access to technical skills training as part of our Learning & Development offering.
“...Continued education, including technical and interpersonal skills, for staff is imperative in strengthening careers. Not only does it provide value to the individual and the business, but also ensures we are providing the best service to our clients.”
These education and upskilling opportunities extend to the firm’s focus on mentorship, Mr Cabuka said.
“Formal mentoring is provided throughout the term of our Seasonal Clerkship and Law Graduate programs,” he explained.
“Informal mentoring by our people in management and leadership positions is also an important part of our culture and individuals at all levels are encouraged to seek out mentoring opportunities.”
