New Zealand and Sydney firm Duncan Cotterill has appointed Callum Reid as a partner. Cotterill joins the team in Sydney, and the appointment forms part of a concerted effort by the firm to grow their presence there.

Reid has more than 20 years experience practising in the areas of commercial dispute resolution, corporate restructuring and insolvency in Australia, the United Kingdom and New Zealand. He has worked in a number of major law firms including Norton White and Henry David York in Sydney, and Simpson Grierson in Auckland.

He has particular expertise in financial services litigation and cross-border dispute resolution. Most recently, he acted as the representative for the liquidator of the New Zealand HIH companies on the Australian creditor committees. He has also been the legal advisor to the liquidator of New Cap Reinsurance Corporation in Australia.
