ADELAIDE-BASED firm Norman Waterhouse has welcomed back property specialist James McEwen, who has returned to the firm after a brief stint as legal counsel for the University of Adelaide.

McEwen rejoins the firm as a partner, and will head up its property services team, which specialises in servicing both local government and corporate clients. When he was previously with the firm, he built up considerable experience acting for local government, and he has particular expertise in leasing and licensing, acquisitions and disposals, property development, due diligence and general contract preparation and advice.

He also brings back to the firm skills gained working in-house for the University of Adelaide on a number of large projects including the development of legal compliance and contract management frameworks.
