CORPORATE AND securities lawyer, Hamish Walton has moved from Baker & McKenzie in Melbourne to join international firm Clyde & Co in Dubai.

Walton specialises in equity capital markets, mergers and acquisitions and general commercial matters and will be joining Clyde & Co as a partner. In his new role, he will be focusing on listings on the Dubai International Financial Exchange, the structuring of real estate investment entities, various mergers and acquisitions, and general commercial deals.

On his decision to relocate to Dubai, Walton said he was excited by the opportunity to work for an excellent firm with one of the biggest law offices in Dubai, to be involved in the emergence of a new regional and global financial centre and to work on some of the biggest deals being undertaken, and to experience a different culture with his family.
