BRUCE DYER, an M&A specialist in Blake Dawson’s corporate group in Melbourne, has been promoted to partner. Dyer’s experience includes serving for a year as general counsel for the Takeovers Panel in 2006—07, where he provided expert advice on applications, litigation, and amendments to the Panel’s legislation.

At Blakes, he has provided high-level technical and strategic advice on some of the most significant complex M&A matters handled by the firm in recent years.

He first joined the firm in 2000, having previously taught administrative law and corporate law at Monash University, and he became special counsel in 2001.

Speaking about why he chose to move to the firm, Dyer said: “I joined Blake Dawson because of its people and firm culture, market reputation and the quality of the work that the corporate practice has become known for.”
