Firm: Dentons (Valmec)

Deal: Dentons has advised Valmec on the scheme of arrangement to be acquired by Altrad Australia for $52 million in cash.

Value: $52 million in cash.

Area: M&A, litigation.

Key players: Partner Andrew Shearwood led the team, assisted by partner John Park, special counsel Ryan Lennon and solicitor Charlotte Griffin.

Deal significance: The transaction followed an ambitious timetable and culminated in the Supreme Court of Western Australia marking orders in October 2021 approving the scheme of arrangement and Altrad’s acquisition of approximately 98 per cent of the shares of Valmec.

Mr Shearwood commented: “The transaction is another example of Dentons’ M&A and litigation experts, and its ability to work successfully in multi-disciplinary teams for clients on commercial or strategically important deals.”
