BARRISTER CHRIS O’Neill has been appointed a Victorian County Court judge.

O’Neill brings 28 years of legal experience to the court bench, 12 of which were spent as a solicitor before coming to the Bar.

He has worked on Transport Accident Commission and WorkCover matters as well as medical negligence, asbestos litigation and general common law matters in the County and Supreme Courts.

He has also appeared in the Coroners’ Court, before the Medical Practitioners’ Board and the Legal Profession Tribunal, and is experienced in insurance litigation.

“This strong legal background makes Mr O’Neill a standout candidate for this position at the County Court,” said Attorney-General Rob Hulls in announcing the appointment.
