CHRISTINE COVINGTON has been appointed as a state government representative to the Central Sydney Planning Committee (CSPC).

A partner at Corrs Chambers Westgarth Covington’s appointment reflects industry recognition of her planning, property and environmental law experience, such as the $208 million sale of the Kent Brewery site on Broadway in Sydney.

“The CSPC appointment is a great honour and acknowledges [Covington’s] extensive knowledge and expertise,” Corrs CEO John Denton said. “[She] is a respected role model in the firm, being both a member of our board and the firm’s diversity partner.”

Covington is also a member of the NSW Environmental Planning Law Association and National Environmental Law Association.

Formed under the City of Sydney Act, the CSPC’s primary role is to assess development applications for major developments over $50 million in Sydney’s CBD.
