TRESSCOX LAWYERS has appointed Anthony Herron as a consultant in Sydney.

Herron is a corporate lawyer with experience in commercial contracts, commercial litigation and dispute resolution in the construction sector. He has developed a specialised expertise in the construction sector by working for a broad range of private and public sector bodies.

At the Department of Commerce, Herron led a team advising on building contracts, while also managing commercial litigation matters and disputes that involved residential building construction conducted by the Department and its external legal providers.

In his role as a consultant to WorkCover NSW, Herron worked in the civil claims practice group, where he was responsible for managing litigation for the Uninsured Liability and Indemnity Scheme in NSW.

While working at Suncorp, Herron worked as an in-house counsel, where he provided advice to the claims team and its clients regarding commercial disputes and indemnity matters.

“[Herron’s] appointment reflects his extensive knowledge of construction law which will compliment TressCox’s growing building and construction group,” managing director of the firm, Peter Smith, said.

Herron is also a lecturer in law at the University of Technology Sydney, where he teaches commercial law, property law and procurement and construction contracts’ administration.
