INSURANCE LAW firm Keddies is set to open its fourth office in Sydney in the western suburb of Liverpool, to be accompanied by the appointment of Rod Rimes.

Rimes previously served as partner at Kennedy, Winter and Rimes and Kencalo and Rimes, before accepting the position.

A former mayor of Strathfield Municipal Council, Rimes is also a former president of Western Suburbs District Rugby League Football Club, a past member of the NSW Heritage Council and a foundation member of the Australian Plaintiff Lawyers Association.

Rimes began his legal career with the then government-owned GIO. He has been involved in personal injury law for more than 40 years.

“[Rimes] is a very experienced practitioner and he is well respected throughout both the local community and the legal fraternity,” the firm’s founding partner, Russell Keddie said.

Rimes said that he has “spent the past 35 years as a lawyer working in the same area and potentially, after joining Keddies, I could be working in the same room as I was 30 years ago.”

“We have actually kept the original phone number that we had under Kennedy, Winter and Rimes.”

We're evolving — and so should your insights. Heads up — Lawyers Weekly is going premium from 1 May for just $5 a month. Stay informed without missing a beat. More information coming soon.
