Hicksons Lawyers has promoted eight of its lawyers ahead of its merger with Hunt & Hunt NSW on 1 July.
Amid a “transformative period of growth” for Hicksons Lawyers, including its merger with Hunt & Hunt NSW, the firm has promoted one to special counsel, five senior associates, and two to associates.
Commenting on the promotion round, Hicksons managing partner Cameron Leaver said it was “inspiring to see our talented lawyers advance in their careers” as the firm expands its capabilities.
“These promotions, coupled with our strategic integration, demonstrate our commitment to excellence and our focus on delivering enhanced value to our clients,” Leaver said.
Newly promoted special counsel Liam Maguire is part of Hicksons’ commercial dispute resolution team, where he excels in the management and resolution of complex contractual and equitable claims, intellectual property disputes, and diverse regulatory matters.
Maguire is also experienced in trademarks, including formulating applications, overcoming adverse reports, and managing and resolving disputes related to applications and registrations.
Senior associate Alexandra Beal, from the workplace relations, employment and safety team, has covered the “full spectrum” of workplace-related matters, including adverse action and unfair dismissal claims, and employee minimum entitlements.
Alexandra Costello and Oliver Gilmour, in the workers’ compensation team, are both well-rounded in their understanding of relevant claims. For Costello, that includes statutory and common law claims, while Gilmour covers injury damages and statutory compensation.
Bridget Shields and Jessica Zhang, in Hicksons health practice, have extensive experience in claims involving medical and legal issues.
Hicksons has also promoted Connor Wares to associate in the workers’ compensation team, and Elias Dehsabzi to the role of associate in the corporate commercial team and digital lead in the legal digital transformation team.
“We are building a stronger, more dynamic firm that is well positioned to meet our clients’ evolving needs in an ever-changing legal landscape,” Leaver said.
