Janette Kveytel, a special counsel and accredited specialist in wills and estates law, has been hired by Southern Waters Legal.

The Cronulla-headquartered law firm has also promoted Chloe Malic, Stephanie Martyn, and Caitlin McGrath to senior associate.

“These appointments recognise the exceptional dedication, expertise and leadership that Janette, Chloe, Stephanie, and Caitlin consistently demonstrate in their respective practice areas,” the firm said.

“Janette’s appointment as special counsel reflects her standing as an accredited specialist in wills and estates law and her significant contribution to both our firm and the profession.

“Similarly, the promotions of Chloe, Stephanie, and Caitlin to senior associate recognise their commitment to delivering outstanding outcomes for clients and their continued growth as trusted advisors.”

Prior to joining Southern Waters Legal, Kveytel worked as an adviser for a national ASX-listed company, where she represented a significant number of claimants in the Family Provision List of the Equity Division of the Supreme Court of NSW.

Kveytel has frequently resolved disputes before the commencement of proceedings, helping clients to minimise costs, stress, and the uncertainty often associated with family law litigation.

Practising exclusively in family law, Malic has advised clients across a broad range of matters, including parenting arrangements, property settlements, divorce, child support, and financial arrangements.

Malic is committed to providing practical, strategic, and client-focused advice tailored to her clients’ circumstances.

Martyn advises clients on both family and property law, including parenting arrangements, property settlements, divorce, residential conveyancing, property transfers, and estate planning.

She is highly skilled in resolving matters through negotiation and alternative dispute resolution and has been a confident advocate before the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (FCFCOA).

McGrath’s expertise spans parenting matters, property settlements, divorce, spousal maintenance, and child support.

In addition to helping clients resolve disputes efficiently and cost-effectively, McGrath is a qualified Independent Children’s Lawyer and is recognised for her practical approach and commitment to achieving positive outcomes for family law clients.

“We are incredibly proud of their achievements and look forward to seeing them continue to play an important role in the future success of Southern Waters Legal,” a spokesperson for the firm said.
