Reflecting its commitment to developing talent from within, HHG Legal Group has promoted one of its lawyers to partner, two to managing associate, one to special counsel, and two to associate.

New partner Kimi Shah, from HHG’s wills, estates and succession planning practice, has advised across sophisticated estate planning, deceased estate administration, trust and succession planning, estate litigation, and self-managed superannuation funds.

Shah is known for developing practical solutions and clear commercial advice to legally and emotionally complex matters.

“I am incredibly grateful for the support of my colleagues, mentors, and clients,” Shah said.

“I look forward to continuing to support our clients while contributing to the future growth of the firm.”

The new managing associates are James Versteegen from the family and de facto law team, and Luke Davies from commercial litigation.

Dispute resolution’s Pat Beilby is HHG’s newest special counsel, and Lila Guerreiro from the family and de facto law team and Adam Hughes from dispute resolution have stepped into the associate role.

Chief executive Merrill MacNish said HHG is committed to creating an environment where its talented people “can build meaningful and rewarding careers”.

“Seeing people grow into leadership positions is one of the most satisfying parts of that journey,” MacNish said.

“The appointments of Kimi, James, Luke, Pat, Lila, and Adam reflect both their individual achievements and the strength of the teams around them. They have each earned the trust of clients and colleagues through their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to delivering exceptional outcomes.”

Managing director Murray Thornhill added that the appointments build on the firm’s capability across a number of key practice areas.

“Clients benefit when we continue to build depth across the firm and invest in future leaders,” Thornhill said.

“These promotions demonstrate the opportunities available and our confidence in the next generation of leaders.”
