A US judge has confessed to letting the air out of a tire of a car parked in a restricted area near his courthouse last week.

Maryland Judge Robert C Nalley is refusing to apologise, but admitted to deflating the tire because leaving notes on illegally parked cars had been ineffective in the past, reported Yahoo news.

Police are now investigating the incident, while Nalley's boss, chief judge William D Missouri. said there might be sanctions.

Jean Washington, owner of the car and a cleaner at the courthouse, said not only had she never received any warnings, but she didn't know she couldn't park in that spot.

Folklaw wonders whether Nalley's chambers might not be cleaned so well from now on.
