The ABA Law Journal reports that New Jersey litigator David Gross may soon be disbarred following revelations from his secretary that her boss failed to disclose e a $50,000 check to his partners.
The secretary in question, Claudette McCarthy, told the New Jersey Disciplinary Review Board that she had a good working relationship with her boss, until he asked her to also undertake some secretarial work for his wife - also a lawyer at the firm. McCarthy claims she was refused vacation and called a "F**cking idiot" by her boss and thus revealed the cheque as payback.
It's a long fall from grace for Gross, a former president of a prominent New Jersey association who has learnt not only a hard lesson in ethics, but also in simply being nice.
