Lohan's now ex-lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, discovered Lohan's deception and promptly resigned.

However, the jilted lawyer has been told that she can't formally hand over the reins until Lohan files the details of a substitution attorney with the court. Word on the Santa Monica street is that Holley is pretty bummed at being denied the opportunity of some R&R on gardening leave.

Various celebrity gossip websites, that an austere journal like Folklaw accidentally came across while researching other matters, reported that Lohan called at least two other lawyers, including one who worked with Holley on the OJ Simpson murder trial a few years back. The defence lawyers in that case certainly earned every cent of their fee.

Don't feel too sorry for Holley. She can still fall back on a client list that includes Nicole Ritchie, Paris Hilton, Mike Tyson and Axl Rose. In fact, Folklaw would like to see Holley defend Mr Rose on the charge that the last Guns N Roses album, Chinese Democracy, was a crime against humanity, and stupidly named.

Folklaw shudders to think what the implications of such an act could be on the Australian legal profession if local lawyers see Holley's actions as setting a precedent.
