A judge saw much more than he would have liked recently when a prisoner walked into his courtroom and spilled his guts. Literally.

According to Reuters, an unfortunate Zimbabwean man, who was awaiting trial for stealing motorcycles, had been locked up inside a remand prison for months with his intestines leaking out of his body. The man had been shot in a police raid which resulted in his arrest.

So when the accused appeared in court for a bail application this week, he made his way to the bench hobbling in pain and carrying his oozing intestines in a good old plastic bag.

The judge, who was somewhat shocked by what he saw, ordered prison authorities to immediately get the poor man to hospital.

A prison spokesman said that they had already taken the man to hospital "at least twice" but unfortunately there were no doctors present at the time (Of course. How silly. Doctors at hospitals? Of course not!).

So they just popped him some painkillers and sent him back to the slammer.

Now, Folklaw doesn't really know how this particularly unfortunate story ends, but we imagine that after having had a moment in the privacy of his chambers, the judge might just have had a stern word or two with the prison wardens.
