CORRS Chambers Westgarth has recruited a member of the Queensland Treasury to its government and major projects team.

The law firm has hired Cecelia Christensen as special counsel in its Brisbane office. She joins from state’s Treasury, where she was a principal legal officer.

Christensen has more than 10 years’ experience advising on issues affecting government agencies, including public sector legislation, policies and procedures, and major commercial projects.

Christensen was responsible for developing the Energy Assets (Restructuring and Disposal) Act 2006, to facilitate the sale of the Queensland energy retail assets, as part of the reform of the Queensland energy retail industry.

The new Corrs recruit was the dedicated project lawyer on the SEQ Urban Water Business Reforms Project. She provided advice on all transaction matters, and was responsible for developing and implementing project legislation to establish new statutory bodies and the restructure of bulk water supply.
