Armstrong Legal hires five from rival firms
The Sydney office of law firm Armstrong Legal has announced the appointment of five new lawyers from firms including DLA Phillips Fox, now DLA Piper.
The firm's managing partner, Lionel Rattenburysaid the firm has seen a massive upswing in work with the arrival of new clients.
“We’ve had substantial matters referred to us from other Sydney law firms and we’ve also been successful with our web presence.”
Joining the criminal law team are Joanna Mansfield, previously with DLA Phillips Fox and Russell Boyd who previously worked as a broadcast journalist and tipstaff to a Supreme Court Judge.
"We have filled another floor in our building as a result of acquiring a steady stream of new clients," said Rattenbury.
The family law team has added three lawyers. Sheridan McMahon has particular expertise in self-managed super funds and complex parenting matters, Zoe Paterson has experience in property settlements, contested estates and family law provision claims, Tijana Petkovick helps clients with issues surrounding divorce and separation, child support, domestic violence and financial agreements.
In the past 12 months, the firm, which specialises in criminal and family law, has grown from 19 lawyers to 27 lawyers, including three partners.
DLA Piper has been int he headlines recently following the massive drop in partner numbers after its merger with DLA Phillips Fox. The firm lost six partner in Canberra last week, nine in Brisbane, one partner in Sydney to Tresscox lawyers.
