BAKER & McKenzie hired two senior banking and finance lawyers from law firm Maddocks.

Senior Associates David Cooper and Robyn Nairn will work for partner Sean Rush, who joined Baker & McKenzie from Maddocks in September.

The duo add acquisition finance and project finance expertise to the firm's banking team, particularly in relation to major infrastructure projects, the firm said in a statement.

Cooper was previously in-house counsel at global investment bank, Investec.  He has significant experience in complex, multi-jurisdictional and cross-border finance transactions, and specialises in advising private equity houses, corporate borrowers and lenders.

Nairn's practice focuses on acting for banks, private equity houses and corporate borrowers on financing transactions and debt restructurings. She also has considerable experience advising clients on cross-border transactions, bilateral and syndicated deals, corporate finance, and construction and property finance.
