Sydney-based law firm Truman Hoyle has appointed a new managing partner to its ranks.

Andrew Seaton replaces Shane Barber, who has held the position for just under 10 years.

Barber has handed over the baton to Seaton, though he will continue as a partner with the firm, focusing on his corporate and communications law practice.

Seaton said Barber had helped the firm carve out a unique position in the Asia Pacific legal marketplace.

The firm’s various practices focus on technology, communications, media, competition and corporate law generally.

Barber said he welcomed the change.

“It has been an enormous privilege to be the managing partner of this great firm for almost a decade, but I believe it’s very important for law firms to regularly refresh and renew themselves,” he said.
