HWL Ebsworth says a demand for regulatory assistance is behind the recruitment of a corporate advisory lawyer from rival Lander & Rogers.

The firm appointment of Anthony Seyfort to its Melbourne office as it makes efforts to boost the corporate advisory group.

At Lander & Rogers Seyfort was the firm's corporate advisory practice group leader for over eight years.

His experience also includes five years as company secretary and senior lawyer for Crown Limited, and performing non- executive director and audit committee member roles for a utility and two corporate superannuation funds.

The firm said Seyfort’s specialist regulatory experience enables him to represent clients in dealings with government and regulatory bodies and provide advice on regulatory compliance programs and strategies for the management of regulatory risk.

He joins HWL Ebsworth on 2 July 2012.

Juan Martinez, managing partner of HWL Ebsworth, said: "We have seen significant growth in demand for regulatory assistance in recent years, and Anthony's recruitment reflects the growth which we have planned across our business to meet this client need.”
